Life
is dynamic. The world and ourselves are always changing,
even if it doesn't feel like it. It's easy to get lost in
the flow of our everyday activities. For some of us, days,
months and years seem to pass in a blink of an eye, and
eventually, we may wake up one day and not be able to recognize
who we've become.
Conscious living... we hear
about it, read about it, talk about it, but what does it
really mean? How can one live a life of consciousness?
The relationship between the
mind, body and spirit plays a significant role in our life
experience. When one area is being neglected, our lives
will shift out of balance. When one area is being overused,
our lives will shift out of balance. We've discussed the
importance of physical wellness throughout this Web site,
though physical wellness alone cannot provide a complete
life experience of health and wellness. Mental and spiritual
wellness are essential in order for us to achieve our greatest
dreams.
The Mind
The
mind is a powerful tool. It has the ability to create our
reality. Our thoughts paint the picture of our lives. When
we think positive, encouraging and empowering thoughts,
our world will appear quite different than when we are negative,
pessimistic and discouraging. We must train our minds as
if we were physically training our bodies to think positively.
For example, throughout the course of a day, our minds will
become filled with self-defeating thought processes. It
then becomes all too easy for us to believe such negativity.
In order for us to shift from the negative to the positive,
we must make a conscious effort. To do that we can:
1). Ignore the negativity. Do NOT believe it and give it
energy.
2). Ask ourselves what we really want from this life experience.
3). Affirm our dreams — without waiting for validation
from others.
The health of our minds plays
a role in the health of our bodies and spirits. Everything
is connected. When must honor and respect each entity.
The
Spirit
The
spirit is our life force. It's what enables us to take part
in this incredible journey. Our spirit is our guide, our
map, our inner compass. In truth, bringing the spirit to
life is the sole purpose of our physical existence. Our
spirits are the best of us. Life — its pressures,
responsibilities and fears — has a tendency to overshadow
our spirits. It's up to us to help bring them to light for
all to see and know. It's when we nurture our spirits along
with our bodies and minds will we then be able to live a
life of health and wellness.
